ASCC Student Government
Students who enroll and pay Service Activities fees are members of the Associated Students of Centralia College (ASCC). ASCC Student Government promotes educational, social and cultural activities, acts as the official voice of the student body, and facilitates student participation in the college community for the betterment of Centralia College.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2020-21 Student Government. These are hourly paid positions. Positions available are listed below with links to the full job descriptions.

Priority screening of applications begins April 22. Download a 2020-21 SGA Application (word doc) and submit it with a resume and your essays by April 22 for priority consideration.
Student Government meetings are held weekly with agendas and times posted throughout the campus. Their meetings are open to the student body and any interested student may attend. Any student who wishes to have an item placed on the agenda should contact the Student Government Office.
Meetings are held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays in TAC 230. ASCC meetings are open to all.

Aaron Fowler - President
Intended Major and Career Goal:Current AAS Electronics Robotics and Automation, planning on continuing on and getting my bachelor’s degree.
Interests/Hobbies: Art, Star Wars, enjoying life
Why did you decided to attend Centralia College?Initially it was all income driven. Due to injury I was unable to find employment as a laborer anymore and needed to find a new direction. I was able to work with the wonderful people in worker retraining to find the path I was to take. During the process I decided to listen to family and got involved with student government.
What is something you hope that Student Government will achieve this year? To work together as a team to achieve the goals set before us.
Why did you choose to get involved on campus? At first, I had no thoughts or plans on getting involved. My sister had been involved with student government in the past. Both her and my brother in law strongly encouraged me getting involved. I am so thankful I decided to listen and take their advice. Once involved, I found it not only helped me do better in school, but also has helped me learn to grow in life.
Advice to new students: Just hold on, you will be alright. The commitment you are taking on is tough and arduous.
Remember, there are awesome support systems all around campus; worker retraining,
our advisors, Trio just to name a few. You are not alone. This college wants to see
Mckenna Smith - Vice President
Intended Major: Spanish Intended Career Goal: High School Spanish Teacher
Interests/Hobbies:Love making coffee at second job, hanging out with friends, and hanging out in the outdoors
Why did you decide to attend CC: I get to play softball and go to school at the same time.
What is something you hope Student Government will achieve this year? I hope to involve as many people on campus as possible and get more voters!
Why did you choose to get involved on campus? I have always been involved on a high school level but wanted to take it to the next step at college.
Advice to new students: DON’T be afraid to get involved! Join committees and clubs, be vocal, be yourself,
and most importantly have fun!
Jisu Han - Senator for Executive Affairs
Intended Major and Career Goal: Biochemistry (pre-med route with English minor)
Interests/Hobbies: Learning instruments, playing tennis, and eating!
Why did you decided to attend Centralia College? As a running start student, I knew it would be beneficial for me in the long run to be able to take more rigorous and diverse coursework while in high school.
What is something you hope that Student Government will achieve this year? I hope that Student Government will achieve success in organizing events that the community will love, as well as accomplishing goals that will leave a mark at Centralia College.
Why did you choose to get involved on campus? I wanted to be a part of helping with events and be a leader on campus to fellow students and a resource to them.
Advice to new students: Don’t be afraid to be involved. Go to college events and meet new people! Also, challenge yourself- whether it be a more difficult class or a new club.
J Mott - Senator for Engagement
Intended Major and Career Goal: BAS - Applied Management. I hope to continue working in Student Affairs.
Interests/Hobbies: All styles of Art
Why did you decided to attend Centralia College? I was lost and didn't know where to go in life. I enrolled at CC for a couple of art classes and the instructors were so amazing. I quickly found a path that makes me excited to work toward.
What is something you hope that Student Government will achieve this year? More inclusion with the community and students with special needs.
Why did you choose to get involved on campus? As an older student, I found myself giving the younger students advice and grew to enjoy having people come to me when they needed help.
Advice to new students: Don't look back, you're not going that way.
Laurel Orosco - Senator for Student Advocacy
Intended Major and Career Goal: Master’s in psychology, clinical psychologist
Interests/Hobbies: I love traveling, swimming, and meeting new friendly faces
Why did you decided to attend Centralia College? This is my hometown and I love the people in my community.
What is something you hope that Student Government will achieve this year? I hope to assist student government in forming greater connections with students, teachers, and members of our community.
Why did you choose to get involved on campus? To show others the same kindness and support that I’ve received here at CC
Advice to new students: Be proud of who you are, and smile often.
